How Dare You Say He Shouldn't

Jo has said it and we must obey. He has decreed that now is the opportuned time to get rid of this monster we love to hate in our land. Many before him were to lilly livered to mention the subject. Those who dared to mention, only paid lip service.

But the man of courage is here. We all asked him to lead us to the promised land.So Jo has declared, "off with the petroleum subsidy." What are we subsidizing he asks? The pockets of a few as agaisnt the millions of impoverished in our Land?

That monster that breeds corruption must be dealt the death blow to safeguard our common wealth which until now is being siphoned by a few.

Why continue to subsidize from January 1, 2012 when today October 23, 2011, we have witnessed monumental changes in our polity. The hospitals have state-of-the-art equipment; we have the safest and pliable roads you can think off, well lit and signed.

Can you not but notice that the schools have functional libraries and laboratories and the ronowned Professors satiating the parched palates of the thirsty students? Can you not see this you who continue to question my nobel intentions, can you?

When last did you have power outage any where in your vicinity? Or do you not realise we now have pipe borne water even in the most remote cranny of our Land? Can you not see the subways and 10 lane high ways? Can you not see that your living standard is better than it was in 1980 talkless of 1960? Open your eyes and see.

We must remove this subsidy now so we can have more of this and more and more come January 2012. See how nations are clanouring to visit and invest in our Land? The telephone company was sold even before the auctioneer's gavel hit the table. Now you send facsimile from your toilets. Nations are piling up their foreign reserves in our currency. Can you not see that too?

Let us therefore take away this oil subsidy from the hands of the few who are lining their pockets with our wealth and redistribute it to us all.

Engee even supports it; mallam says it is the only option; the captains are saying thesame and more.

Afterall, yesterday we could not pay 18 hundred cowries minimum wage and once the monster is gone, we can begin to earn 200 times that. Afterall you have been paying school fees but once the monster is out of the way, you will not even need to pay house rent any more.

So how dare you say he shouldn't get rid of the oil subsidy when all the goods and services bear our logo of excellence, proudly .... Even the white man eats our rice, drive our cars, ware our clothes even sun tan to blacken his skin?

How dare you!
